24-hour Charrette to design a mobile pavilion for Richard III exhibition

Leicestershire & Rutland Society of Architects in association with RIBA East Midlands organised the 24 hour Charrette for LSA students. The theme of this year's event was to design a mobile pavilion for the Richard III exhibition. The competition briefing took place on the evening of 26th February and included two guest lectures. Prof. Sarah Hainsworth, leading forensic materials experts who worked RICHARD III excavation, gave a short lecture on the recent Richard III find. Jonathan Park a structural engineer then gave a talk on his stage designs for Pink Floyd, U2 and the Rolling Stones.

After much deliberation, current LRSA President Malcolm Goodall announced the winners. This year's 'joint winners' were presented with their prizes by the LRSA President and Grant Butterworth Head of Planning at Leicester City Council .
